Fisherman's chores are never done and, considering the footwear, even some acrobatic skills are needed.
Most of these fishing boats are moored in the “Pamiglione”, the oldest still existing part of the port of Livorno.Between mending nets and unloading the fish, someone found the time to do some laudry, hanging it up to dry on the boat. In background, the “Canaviglia” bastion of the “Fortezza Vecchia”.

That footwear could be a little hazardous! One way to get a great suntan.
I enjoy your posts very much.
Sunny :)
I have always found laundry hanging on a line a great subject for a photograph. Interesting to see it on a boat, too.
I really love the positioning of his body in the first shot. In the second shot, maybe the laundry got done but no one managed to mend his pants. The third shot is really wonderful with that curved brick wall behind the pristine working boat.
From what I have seen, boaters often spend more time cleaning and fixing their craft than they do on the water.
Or, as the old saw goes, "A boat is a hole in the water into which you pour money!"
Nice shots, VP...you give a good vision of what's happening in that "bastion."
Great life in the harbor photos! I wonder how much time he spend at sea vs. how much time "on land."
Nice shots. I wonder how many times that guy has fallen into the water. :-0
Pensavo che lui fosse un'acrobata, ma visto che solo volesse fare il bucato ;-)
Buona fine settimana!
Love taking a look at the daily life of the fisherman, thanks!
Nicely spotted!
Great photos. But the third one with the clothes deserves a prize.
Great captures! The 1st shot is fantastic and the 3rd shows a lot of interesting details, background included.
I love the last photo. Laundry is a nice subject, and the shadow on the wall is terrfic - it look lake huge jug.
A great series. Fun :)
Thank you for the view of this cute and strong and flexible and brave fisherman :)
Laundry here, there and everywhere. Laundry in the most unexpected places. This is something I readily associate with Italy. I like it!
At least he wasnt wearing crocs!
