Bow & Stern
The stern of a boat of the “Vigili del Fuoco” (Fire Brigade) coming back to the old harbor, coasting the “Fortezza Vecchia”. It's not every day you see the bow of a ship coming straight toward you, even if she was only maneuvering and I was safe on a robust pier.Yesterday was a day of torrential rain, the first after months of dry weather. Summer is slowly going away taking with her the cruise ships, while the big yachts are coming home after a season of chartering around the Mediterranean.

You cought that bow from a powerful angle. Well done.
Having "no safety" written all over it only adds to the tension of the moment... ;)
@ Per - You're right!
That is a bit scary...no matter if you're on a solid pier...if that thing hit, it would do a lot of damage...
Both shots are excellent compositions, VP!
Great picture of the ship headed straight at you. :-0
Handsome, strong photos! The BIG, black boat is a little intimidating indeed!
I love seeing images like the two working boats that you feature today. Whereas the images of those big white cruisers do nothing for me.
This is so big and powerful ! Nice shot !!Unseen Rajasthan
That second photo was startling! Fantastic capture. I hope you don't have much use of those fire boats.
Nice photos, and my favorite is the black ship....
Have a nice day!
I like your boat photos :-)
Glad to know you were safe at the pier! ;) You did a fabulous work, I loved your pictures and I hope the weather today can be better!
Hugs
Léia ;)
Stay on shore. The second boat looks menacing.
Amazing background in the Fire Brigade shot. Well done, VP.!
It's always sad when the summer ends. I'll miss all your pictures of cruise ships too. Maybe we can explore more underground tunnels and such.
Fantastic. "No Safety" is such a serendipitous capture. Nice!
So, autumn in the air...
Your marine photos are always so strong.
The weather sounds like its been fairly capricious. The bottom photo of the large ship does look a bit scary.
