We have already seen this strange building, called “Cisternone” (Big Cistern), in
Half-Dome Fad.

The half-dome or “semicupola” is the main characteristic of the “Cisternone” and it is considered one of the projects nearer to the dreams of the visionary French architects
Étienne-Louis Boullée and
Claude-Nicolas Ledoux.

The “House of supervisors of the source of the Loue” was a project for the ideal city of Chaux, published in 1804 by Ledoux.

The
Hôtel Guimard, often called
Terpsichore temple, was built in Paris from 1770 to 1773, on a project of the same Ledoux.

I think it is a great looking building.
Really quite beautiful.
It might be a secret; maybe some other 'half' to be found somewhere else.
Indeed great architecture. Please have you all a good Wednesday.
That is amazing.
It's fantastic.
A half-dome -- it certainly captures the imagination!
Interesting also that the modern city uses cisterns.
It is a striking building as were the ideas at the time.
Very impressive as are and were many ideas that have come to us from Italy. So much started there. MB
Looks a bit strange to me,but I like it:)
I don't think I have seen anything like it, although maybe it did inspire the designers of some amphitheatres.
The half-dome is really interesting! Very creative architecture :-)
Sembra un po strano, pero mi piace :-)
