These are wonderful shots...I would guess the city of Livorno might wish to have them for their archives...don't you think?

Can't imagine jumping out of an airplane...I don't like to be up on a step ladder!

Love your photos VP. This certainly is a victory of independence worth celebrating.
The flags are so colorful too.

So your 2nd of June is like the 14th of July?

It doesn't look like there is a big crowd, especially in the band photo.

Or like our 4th of July.
Always a good time for a parade.
I am glad all the jumpers landed where they were supposed to.
Excellent pictures. MB

@ Dina - They usually jump out of a helicopter. The older guy on the left is something like a chief-instructor and is always the last to land, after some kind of acrobatic.

We still have monarchy in Norway. (http://kongehuset.no), so I can`t really imagen what a day like this would be like. Looks like a big event !and these brave people jumping out of a plane....landing not on afield but in the city. Wow!!
Is this a thing you celebrate all over the country?

Top photo: Well, that's a novel way to fly a flag. What fun to celebrate an important national day. Thanks for the information and the photos.

Well, auguri! Was a quiet day for me, as I have many clients in Italy. One of the too rare days when I can actually read the newspaper at work!
