Yesterday the “gozzo” (10-rower boat) of the quarter of “Venezia” won the “Coppa Risi'atori”, the first of the three major races of this year rowing season.
The race starts from the Meloria islet, about 5 km outside the port of Livorno, while the finish line is in the “Darsena Nuova”.
The final rush between “Venezia” and “Ovo Sodo”, in the crowded waters of the “Porto Mediceo”.
Too many boats around created some problems for the rowers.
The “gozzo” of the “Venezia” passes alone under the swing bridge of the “Darsena Nuova”.
The “Ovo Sodo”, an unlucky second, still hopes to gain revenge in the following races: the “Coppa Barontini” and the top race of the season, the “Palio Marinaro”.See also: Gozzi & Gozzette - Palio Marinaro - Trofeo D'Alesio
