Last Thursday, during the final touches of some maintenance work on land, the “Pilotina Due” (Pilot Boat Two) took fire by accident and burned almost completely. The three yard workers on board at the moment of the fire were able to escape unharmed from the scaffolding.I took many pictures of the elegant mahogany finished boat during her rides across the waters of our port.Goodbye “Pilotina Due”, you braved the waves to meet a sad end on land. We'll miss you...

Always activities going on at the harbor.
Interesting and nice shots.
Such drama! Pilotina Due looks like a very small boat, but must of been very useful while in the sea :)
That is sad. There is something special about a beautifully put-together boat, especially one that is as useful as this one is!
Evidently, you think she cannot be restored...
You always take wonderful photos of boats (among other things!).
Pretty sad Vogon. I like your pictures of Pilotina Due.
Oh, my.
Oh, shame. What a sad end to the little boat. Fortunately she had you as her photographer over the years.
It so nice how you know each ship in your harbor and get attached to them.
Oh how sad---she was such a beautiful and happy working boat.
She cannot be repaired at all? MB
I was so sad when I read the ending. I thought they would fix her up. It's a nice tribute to a good boat.
Ending on land is the saddest thing for boats I think. Is there a boat heaven?
How ironic a boat burns on land.
Sad but I'm glad no one got hurt! I like the contrast to the yellow ship.
What a sad ending for a formerly beautiful and stalward ship.
Very sad. Fancy catching fire on land. Love the bottom photo with the big, yellow ship.
Scary news. Glad everyone survived!
