The new footbridge to the Fortezza Vecchia is working. Here you can see it from the Porta del Duca toward the Scalo Regio: I have just crossed it and the bridge is now opening to let a boat pass.

Looks like the gate opens and closes automatically as boats approach the footbridge?
I can imagine that bridge becoming a well used one!
I tried to figure out which parts move and where they go when a boat passes, but I failed!
Revrunner - There is an operator and a schedule.
Jack - The central part of the footbridge is sliding toward us: you can see the different levels of the flooring.
Great!
A beautiful and useful structure !
Looks like a very nice structure.
I like it. I can see the opening. I thought it would rise, but it must slide together. Very nice!
Thanks for explaining in the comments how the bridge opens and closes.
Tout vient à point à qui sait attendre...
It's nice and wide for a footbridge.
It must be fascinating to watch!
I love how that works! Would love to stand and watch the bridge and the boats.
