The Big Blue Shed

Industrial shed, Porta a Mare, Livorno
There was a lot of noise about what I called a horror in plain view, well before my post and even after I recanted my opinion of it. The same had already happened about the new parking at the site of the Cinema Odeon, which I still do not like.

The construction of this new huge structure on our seafront, not far from the one mentioned above, has been met by a deafening silence.

VP, this is quite a structure. So large and well....not very lovely.

One wonders why this kind of thing would be allowed when your seafront is so important for visitors and tourists as well as local residents. I'm guessing corrupt politicians but not sure you have those.

Venendo dal lungomare lato sud,
lo sguardo verso l'orizzonte si interrompe
nell'enorme hangar in costruzione!
E' veramente un enorme obrorio visivo,
credetemi;)

You will have to show this to us again when it is completed. Right at the moment, it doesn't look to promising.

Ouch. At least it's blue...

Re. Kapoor, you're in for a shock tomorrow on VDP... :-)

At least the color is nice...

It looks like the beginning of a Swedish furniture store which shall remain nameless. Could it be?

It's going to be a huge building apparently. Hope it will be useful.

Seems such a shame to build something so HUGE so close to the sea front!

Better to have it underground, but that is not always possible I guess.

I remember your first negative impression of the previous structure (which I shared) and your later more favorable opinion (which I also shared). Maybe we need to wait a bit before deciding on this garage . . . .
