Spotted Flycatcher

Spotted flycatcher, via Roma, Livorno
I saw this tiny bird on a tree between Via Roma and Viale della Libertà. I was able to identify it as a “pigliamosche” (flycatcher) only with the help of my friend Stefano and his friend Gabriele.

This one looks quite alert!

Excellent capture, VP! Flycatchers are so active that I rarely get a good look at them let alone photograph them.

Looks innocent enough. Lookout small flying bugs!

I love both your photo and the bird's Italian name.

He's a handsome fellow perched there and posing beautifully for your camera.

Different from the flycatchers here in Canada...but it does have that "flycatcher look". :) It's great to have friends who can help you identify birds! (Sometimes I need to ask for help too.)
