On July 19th 1944 the Allied troops, with the help of local partisans, freed the city of Livorno. Every year a ceremony takes place at the “Bassorilievo al Partigiano” (Bas-relief to the Partisan) commemorating the event and the many Livornesi fallen in the Resistance.

A different monument than what I'm used to, but very effective.
May such sacrifices never again be required.
Beautiful sculpture.
A very nice way to remember those who we have lost.
A heroic image on the wall, and so many names. Good they are remembered.
A very special day in Livorno history!
A solemn time.
Beautiful memorial and wonderful remembrance.
Nice memorial!
Wonderful to remember the brave souls who were lost!
Very interesting. I am impressed that the memorial ceremonies are still occurring so many years later.
So many names and so many lives.
I think it is important to remember.
There must be people in and outside Livorno who still remember familymembers that never came back home.
