Surfin' Lungs

Surfin' Lungs, Mercatino AmericanoMy knowledge of surf music doesn't go much beyond the Beach Boys, so I almost stumbled on the first night of the Surfer Joe Music Summer Festival at the “Mercatino Americano”.Surfin' Lungs, Mercatino AmericanoA very good British band called Surfin' Lungs was playing beach tunes from the 60's and I am quite ashamed that I didn't know most of them.Surfin' Lungs, Mercatino AmericanoThe festival goes on for three more days at the Otto e Mezzo Studios with many more bands and a display of “Americana”, mostly vintage cars.

This looks like it's going to be a jammin' music festival. Hope you can post more photos.

"Americana" in Livorno. OK . . .

So it's called surf music? Well then you already know more than I do, and I grew up in America in those 60s.
Thanks for the musical pictures.

It is definitely the time of year for outdoor concerts. I stumbled upon one playing songs from the American songbook on my way to a classical concert last night. Two treats in one evening.

What's this about drinking water, at least in public??!!

I love the Beach Boys and my knowledge didn't go further than yours until now!

Good fun!! I guess all I remember about 'surfin' is the Beach Boys too. But then again I was never into the surfing scene.
So did you stay and listen and watch and take more pictures? MB

Well, possibly I wouldn't know much of the repertoire (except for Beach Boys too) but I'd really appreciate to attend...
God bless you!

I grew up on surf music in Southern California in the 60s, and I still love it. I think the band doesn't have to be very good in this genre to be enjoyable, but it's hard to tell from the YouTube video if they are good or not. They have stretched the repertoire with "The Godfather," and it sounded quite fun.

Beach Boys, I know...but that's about it for me, too! Although I do like their version of The Godfather ;D

Nothing to be ashamed of...I don't know 'em either!

Looks like this could be a lot of fun, though. Hope you were wearing earplugs!

We're heading to Jacksonville for a friend's wedding this afternoon, so I have a feeling we'll be out of pocket for a day or so...I'll try to post and comment, but...

I believe some of them are as old as the Beach Boys! :-)

As like you I only know about the Beach Boys. Lots of bands like this over here as well. Nice to hear some old songs every now and then. And even better live!
