Under the Castle

This the vault of the arch under the small castle at the entrance of “Villa Maria” facing “Via Calzabigi”.“GL” are the initials of Giovanni Lazzara, who built this villa.
To honor his memory, the heirs of Giovanni Lazzara,
Knight of the Work,
donated this villa and its park to the local council
so that the building would be used as museum
and the garden open to the public.

So beautifully impressive. And it is wonderful that this building was made accessible to the public!

Re your comment on Ocala DP: This is one of our ubiquitous Walmarts, the store that destroyed small-town America, sells lots of junk, and treats its employees like crap!

I love the detailing.

How wonderful of the family to donate it all---and a park too. MB

It appears that it's all done in paint. That's even more amazing. I thought they were 3D at first. Beautiful post.

I love your blog for so many reasons. First, the grand photos. Second, the thoughtful text. Third, your photos say so much about your city. They are artistic yet informative at the same time.

For sure I will include Livorno whenever I get a chance to visit Italy!!!
