Iron

A detail of a railing along the “Fosso Reale”. You can see the whole thing in “One Hundred Years”.“Andana degli Anelli” means the dock of the rings, where “andana” is the type of dock where boats are moored Med style, stern to.Fanlights are quite common over doorways in old houses, this is just a little more elaborate than the average one.

Nice iron work, especially over the doorway. It's a nice combination of wood and iron.

The 1st shot is my favorite! Iron meets but does not touch the sea - sooooo lovely.

I like all of these, but don't really know why - rusty old things! I suppose because they are symbolic of your town and it's connection with the sea.

I love old iron pieces. If only they could talk about what has occurred around them over the decades, or in Italy, maybe even over the last century.

Beautiful series of iron images. I like the andana the best, although the "knot" in #1 is very impressive, set against the clear blue sea.

Complimenti!

I have a feeling you've only just begun to explore the theme of iron. These are three excellent images.

Wonderful artwork, the first one is my favourite, I like a lot those lines and the sweet flower to contrast, maybe it's something mitic!

I love the top photo; the design is elegant in its simplicity! I checked the link and was surprised that it got lost in the whole work, but your eye detected its beauty.

Every photo beautiful and interesting. I had not heard the term "fanlights," so I'm glad to know it.

VP said...

@ tapirgal - I didn't know it either, and I hope is the right term...

The rusty iron against the water is beautiful - and against stone, too.
