Reminds me of the work recently completed on both the Hatteras and Bodie lighthouses in North Carolina.
It is a beauty. Lighthouses have always appealed to me.
Beautifully restored lighthouse. They look fine even though they are no longer needed for navigation, they are a romantic link with the past.
This is certainly a big improvement.

Decades ago I had a tour in the very top of the Grosse Point lighthouse just north of Chicago and I remember how exciting it was to see the huge lens up close.
The tower was built in the 1870s. Today it is a park and museum and has the only remaining second-order Fresnel lens on the Great Lakes.
Very impressive. The renovation was a success! Love that blue sky!

It looks great! Santa Marta Lighthouse at Cascais has now a museum in which one room is full of lens on display. I was totally amazed by the beauty and SIZE of them.

Fresnel lenses have always literally fascinated me, especially when you can see them up close... Not that I can walk up to the lens of any lighthouse at the moment!
