More Hygieia

Bowl of Hygieia, via Santa Giulia, LivornoAfter my first post about the Bowl of Hygieia I keep seeing this symbol everywhere: on a pharmacy window in “Via Santa Giulia”.Bowl of Hygieia, via Ricasoli, LivornoI have even found a Hygieian door handle in “Via Ricasoli”...Bowl of Hygieia, via Grande, Livorno... and a “Since 1895” sign in “Via Grande”.

I find this so historical and artistic. We don't really have this in the states.

I agree with Farmchick. We never do see that much around here.

Well you're bound to see them everywhere! I like the door handle.

Don't you love how that happens?! It's like when you learn a new word, suddenly you start seeing and hearing it everywhere.

That door handle is really something!

I do like very much those old pharms! From time to time I've also discovered some, like in Prague or Lisbon. We have one or two in my town too but perhaps not so old. Now you made me courious and I will check this out:)

It is amazing how many different examples of this theme you have found. Perhaps this could be a theme day theme. Surely the hygieia is everywhere (that's a LOT of vowels)!

@ Dina - You are right, we see things with different eyes when we know something more about their meaning.

Thank God for eyes and ears.
