Serial Windows

An interesting combination of windows and buildings. But why are the windows all shuttered - especially in that first building which now consists of offices and apartments...

Maybe they're facing the afternoon sun?

I like the windows in the Mercato Centrale but the others look like prison windows. Maybe the people in those offices feel that way. MB

I love this series of windows. I was wondering if it was so hot that all the shutters were closed but you've already answered.
