Aren't those amazing? That's the best close-up view I've ever seen. Our LA port (in San Pedro) is packed with them (as you can imagine) & my very close friend (a woman) works as a longshoreman. San Pedro (next to Palos Verdes) has many Italian and Croatian immigrants from 3rd to 1st generation.
Perfect photo, perfect! You could name the post "the unbearable lightness of being"....
(God, this photo reminded me of my late father, who would ask me, what is heavier, a kilo of feathers or a kilo of steel, and I couldn't understand the answer...!!!)
Pilot boat, what pilot boat? Oh geez, down there!? Ah, I see your point.
I could never have one of these ships. I'm no good at packing. Imagine going on a vacation and when you need a couple of new trousers, they are tucked away in container 362, close to the bottom of pile 37. Dreadful.

Yes the pilot boat looks like a mosquito. What amazes me is when tugs start to work on those monsters. They are so small too...
What an imprssive ship is this, really amazing.
Mi piacciono i colori, quasi monocromatici. Bella foto.
I was about to say "What pilot boat?" I thought it was a discoloration or a spot of rust. That thing is humongous!
I wonder where it's going.
Thing to ponder, why it is always Panama? :). I remember my last year project designing a tanker ship. All the best.
Huge!
Fantastic shot!
Kind Regards
Léia

Terrific photo...I would not have noticed the pilot boat if you hadn't mentioned it!
I always find it amazing how high they stack the containers and how huge these ships are.
