The inspiration for this photo comes from a famous work of one of my favorite painters: “The Stages of Life” by Caspar David Friedrich. The moored sail ship is our old friend “Pogoria”.

What a marvelous shot!
Wonderful photo for the theme. I like your inspiration too.
Well done. And, yes, it does show an inspiration by that painting.
Very nice ... the composition is similar to "The Stages of Life" painting.
I really like this photo
its kinda of reflective and thoughtful with the man standing there
Wonderful shot for the theme.
Now, I did not know this artist, nor obviosly, this painting. Yet I see the parallels, and appreciate the symbolism.
I like how you can weave your passion for vessels into nearly anything, VP.
Thank you for participating in our theme of Ageing.
Whata brilliant shot for your theme day post.
I sense a feeling of longing (or maybe I'm just projecting). Now after looking at your links, it becomes clearer. It's a wonderful photograph, as is the painting.
I was so hoping you would use one of your wonderful harbour scenes for the theme VP, you have a brilliant pairing here with the older gentleman gazing out at the tall mast ship, j'adore.
the boat is old but not young man
I'm impressed that you have someone in the photo who also appears to be inspired by the ship.
A wonderful entry, VP!
Ah, a beautiful tall ship.... Lovely.
Well, you certainly have captured one of the 'stages'.
So beautiful and so good VP. Thank you.
Bravo! Fantastic snapshot of ageing.
VP, this is really a great photo. Bravo!
It's wonderful! I wonder what he is thinking about?
POGORIA is a beauty, and the man can`t get his eyes away from her:)
A fantastic view!
Wonder what he is thinking! Terrific shot.
Great interpretation of this theme, VP ! A wonderful image !
