The Scarecrow

“All the same,” said the Scarecrow, “I shall ask for brains instead of a heart; for a fool would not know what to do with a heart if he had one.” “I shall take the heart,” returned the Tin Woodman; “for brains do not make one happy, and happiness is the best thing in the world.”
(Frank L. Baum, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz)

At the “Orti Urbani” you can find what probably is the only scarecrow in town.

A very fun picture and the quote from Oz is perfect. I've always wondered how much good these scarecrows do 'cause I've seen them with birds sitting on their heads!

He's going to get a big tan facing the sun that way.

I just don't see scarecrows here, so I think this is a wonderful one.
Oz speaks great.

Your scarecrow has a nice pose. I hope it works to scare the crows.

Ahh yes, if only we could all have both brain and heart.

Last time I saw V's allotments didn't have anything as nice as this one which doesn't remind me so much of the Wizard of Oz as it does of Worzel Gummidge...
