I just thought about it.....
Why do we not see laundry here???
Probably because of all the rain.
Anyway, to me your image is so typical of countries further south in Europe.
It could have been the perfect location for a film, with opera music coming out from the building and a little Fiat parked just around the corner. And the pelagonias..........
We have got autumn and time to start using woolen clothes again. Goodnight from Stavanger.

Pretty and colorful laundry against the drab gray walls of a modest building. Nice image of common life, VP.

Is this normal or unusual for Livorno?

I myself do not have a dryer but nowadays you see fewer and fewer Israelis taking the time to hang laundry.

I don't think heyd have enough room to hang an entire load there. But I like the colours.

Until some time ago it was unusual to see laundry hanging out of the windows and it was even formally prohibited, but now nobody cares...

What a terrific, interesting image. :) Love the colors! The only thing that looks out of place is the air conditioner at the top of the image.

There's something very appealing about this image VP, simple, uncomplicated life..!
