The new Civic Center in the “Corea” quarter of Livorno opened last year. The roomy and bright building houses several decentralized municipal offices and a media library.
A long balcony on the eastern side of the building offers a vantage point over the quickly changing neighborhood.
The old council houses of the densely populated neighborhood are being gradually walled up and torn down, to make room for more modern public housings.

Really a beautiful new structure, but still sad to see the old one unused.
It has nice, clean lines, VP. I hope it is well received by the people of Livorno.
VP, looks like a very nice building although it is a pity to lose the old parts of town.
I agree with Farmchick. They should restore the old one instead of building new ones. Nice lines in the new building.
The older building are really beautiful and the new---all glass and metal. I suppose more modern but just not as classic. MB

I can't add new to what's been said. No need to discard the old, but can't say no to the new either. It boils down to design excellence. I like what you've shown us of the new civic centre.
I think I prefer the old style of architecture, but sometimes you have go modern.
