“Piazza Cavallotti” is our chaotic fruit and vegetable market. The stalls are brought here every morning and taken away at 2pm.Thanks to my colleague Daniela, for the use of her sister's balcony.

Colourful as butterfly wings, looks peaceful to me.

What a beautiful and colorful chaotic scene...I can smell the smells, too! Yum, yum. You are fortunate to have such a market!
@ Trillian - Re your question about the pizza...actually, this pizza is not very good in my opinion...the crust is bland and tasteless and the pizza itself has no zing. It's OK if you're really hungry, but otherwise, nah...
Beautiful and vibrant colours at the market.
Sydney - City and Suburbs
Such beautiful produce! I love the colors.
Love them! Great pictures. I love that they are taken from above.
Looks inviting. I wish our open-air market were every day, not just on Sunday.
A great medley of fruits and vegetables. Don't you just love all the colours?
FIll my market basket with one of EVERYTHING! :)

I would need alot of bags for this market. Wonderful photos.
The first photo is my favorite. very inviting and makes me smile
All the fresh fruit and vegetables here are making me hungry!
Beautiful colors. Your shuk looks a lot less chaotic than Mahane Yehuda.
So nice!! Looks like the big open market in Seattle. Such great colors. MB
A market should be chaotic!! It's the only way to be.
Yummy! We have such a place in Stockholm, Sweden, called Hötorget, "Piazza Fieno".
We have a market, but not like this.
I nearly "envy" you....
Looks like a colourful and lively market.
You made excellent use of a well-positioned balcony. Love the colours.
I love the colours in the market there, great captures! It reminds me Brazil!

Color, color, color!
I love all the colour! I'd shop here.
These are gorgeous shots, VP. Of course you may post the photo of the benches. Thank you so much for asking. I'm honored.
Daniela doesn't have far to go to shop. Must be noisy when they set up in the morning.
All the wonders of an Italian food market. Superb! I only recently discovered those small tomatoes, not round but oval - you show them in the top photo - fr left. Slightly oval and small and delicious. I just love the flavour of these - even better than the usual beef tomatoes which I buy. Do you happen to know the name? A friend wants me to buy her some seed.
The colors are fantastic! You have so many choices in vegetables! It must be wonderful to have this everyday :D
I like chaotic places. Superb!
Lovely colours of the vegetables.
@ Jilly - Not an expert, sorry, but I'll check tomorrow morning! Are you sure these aren't San Marzano?
Most markets I see are chaotic. I rather like to rummage around to see the different things they sell... it's really the only place where you see local produce, not what you get in the globalized supermarket. Yours is lusciously colorful.
The top shot is fantastic and I really love the view from above! Great entry on the theme (that I forgot! Lol!).
Vegetarian paradise!!!!
@ Francisca - I won't be so sure about local veggies. This is not a farmers market and most of this produce comes from faraway places or from abroad.
Oh, this makes me want to COOK! I love it that you took advantage of the great view from above. I like having the overview. This is the way people have done markets from the dawn of time I imagine, but oh the work of setting up and tearing down each day!

i can see that your vegetables are cheaper than here , lucky you ;)
VP, drats! Not really the same then, is it? But no red bananas?? :-D
Wonderful colours
Awww what glorious-looking food! I love open air food markets, they're a feast for the senses :-)
