I am sure he didn't like “Effetto Venezia”, either...Did you remember the “Palco Torquemada”? In the last days of the event the image of the inquisitor has been rolled up to avoid offending touchy passers-by and unaware tourists. On many plaques of “Venezia” the historical names of the streets were temporarily added to the actual ones.

Really nice shots.
Love the cat!
Oh, yes, I think that kitty is in purrfect agreement with you.
VP, that's too funny (in a weird way) about the Palco Torquemada poster. Someone didn't do their homework. As for the cat... that expression tells me he didn't like your camera! :-D
Well if Calico is happy now, and you are happy now---well we are happy too.
You are too funny. MB
I was sure that only here such thigs happen:)
Cat looks really leased!
Hapy Sunday to you:)
@ Francisca - Maybe, but around there was a lot of people, loud music and bright lights.
We were both in the lower part of the landing, fractionally quieter, so my camera was the least of his problems...
@VP... ah, just a snarly kitty then, perhaps like his new friend. ;-)
[I was pretty amazed at that 872 figure as well, but this is what it said (and well footnoted) in the Wiki I linked: "In 1925 there were actually 1629 bridges in Osaka but with the filling in of canals and rivers, as of April 2003, the number has dropped to 872, 760 of which are currently managed by Osaka City." So that means that someone in Osaka could post a new bridge for Louis la Vache for the next 16 years and 10 months without posting the same bridge twice! :-) ]
Cute little friend, I hope that kitty can find a warm and cozy place to stay.
Hugs

Ah, so in the end Torquemada had to run for his life.
It is, however, a nice idea to post the former names of streets, I think.
Nice to think of you and cat as kindred spirits
Gotta love cats! They are so mysterious!
So you weren't the only one to have noticed about Torquemada...
Nice cat, but I think I will send "Rosso" down for some fun..... You just wait a few days...
These colors and signs are beautiful, and to me they represent ITALIA...the way I remember it.
The cat didn't get extra food this week during the event? I think it must be fun to see the old street names. At least you get something nice from "Venezia."
That cat doesn't look too happy. I like the entrance without the big poster, too :D
OK! So I wasn't the only one shocked with the Torquemada thing...
