Saint Francis

Stained glass window, Cathedral of Livorno
Our Cathedral is dedicated to Saint Francis, represented in this stained glass window on the apse of the church. The windows were lightened up on Christmas Eve for the Midnight Mass.

Beautiful work on the window, though the saint looks decidedly unhappy.

What a beautiful window, but what a sad depiction of St. Francis. My daughter went to a school run by Franciscans. The many statues, windows, and other depictions of St. Francis were certainly more cheerful!
