I was checking the works for the new Elba pier when I saw this sailboat coming back to the marina inside the Porto Mediceo. Little did I know that the skipper of the “Ondalunga” was an old friend of mine trying his new boat: I only recognized him looking at the larger images at home. In background the 294-meter cruise ship “Norwegian Jade”.

wow
Just a little difference in size and amenities. :-)
Nice sailboat! I used to go sailing quite a bit when I was younger and had several friends with their own sailboats. That cruise ship is enormous!
That's huge!
That's not a "little" sailboat ... but it gives you an idea of the massive size of the cruise ship! Interesting coincidence - seeing your old friend this way!
The "Norwegian Jade" looks huge and pretty, but what make this image special (for me) is the sailboat plus the light and lines. It is 08.25 here on a Wednesday morning. We have got rain and a bit of snow, lightening and NOTHING like the day you have had!
Do I envy you? well. the positive thing is that the weather change so quickly here, so who knows, the afternoon might be much better?
Greetings from Norway.
Too bad the friend became recognizable only later; you could have gotten a boat ride!
Absolutely a wonderful capture VP. Great image.
I'm thinking if I'd prefer to go by boat or by cruise ship...
Quite a contrast in sailing vessels.
The comparison is astounding VP.. How funny recognizing your friend later on the computer :)
wow, really shows the size of that ship doesn't it?! how funny to end up seeing your friend in the photos!
Encoutering your friend on a photo. That's new! I prefer his boat to that building!
Funny coincidence.
But the big ship really is a big ship.
That's quite the contrast between BIG and little.
