Spa Terrace

Spa terrace, The Waters of Health, Le Acque della Salute, Livorno
The “Acque della Salute” (Waters of Health) were also known as the “Terme del Corallo” (Coral Spa) and another name was “Montecatini al Mare” or Montecatini by the Sea. The obvious meaning was that we had everything they had at the Montecatini spas, plus the sea.

The terrace featured in the old postcard is seen from outside the complex, while the recent photo was taken from the other side, from the recently opened “Parco delle Terme”.

They had a classier fence back then.

That's a beautiful building. Too bad it isn't used and maintained. Love the comparison of old and new images.

The passage of time has not been kind to the "Spa by the Sea" - your picture is beautiful, though!

I am curious about the fence, how and why it disappeared.

Merisi - The fence is still there, on the other side of the terrace. The new picture was taken from the inside.

It's a beautiful structure no matter from where you see it.

Well it's a nice view from the park but I still think something could be made of it!

Great place!
I like the way you do interesting postings, and show us what it looked like in the old days.

The current fence is disappointing, but it still looks great. I like seeing your comparison of old postcards and today.
