Moby Vincent aground

Here is our beloved “Moby Vincent” undergoing some off-season maintenance inside the floating dock. The ferry is already ready to ply her usual route from Livorno to Bastia, in Corsica.

Two Cannons

We have already seen our small dry dock at work and how it is closed by a caisson. What we haven't noticed before is that two old cannons were recycled on its sides as bollards.

We saw other cannons near the North Lighthouse and we will see a few more around the Porto Mediceo.

Giraglia

Moby Lines ferry Giraglia, IMO 8013235, port of Livorno
The ferry “Giraglia” undergoing some maintenance inside the small dry dock. She is the sister ship of the “Bastia” and her name comes from an island at the northern tip of Corsica.

After a few days in Rome, we are coming back home today...

This kind of boat is designed for the offshore and salvage industry, it is equipped for oil recovery, fire fighting and can also be used as a communication center during rescue operations.TITO IMO 7711672, anchor handling towing supply vessel, LivornoThe boat, 63-meter long, was built in 1981 at the Astilleros de Huelva (Huelva shipyard), in Spain. The second picture was taken ten days after the first one.

The boat is now in our small dry dock.Maìn, Giorgio Armani's YachtThe construction of the new yacht took almost three years, with Armani himself following closely and contributing to the overall design of the boat. The stylist personally designed the interior.
