What a Shame...

Bike sharing, Piazza Cavour, Livorno
The ultimate example of bicycle art, without bicycles. The easily foreseeable disaster of our bike sharing program has left a few abandoned stations and a hole of 130,000 Euro in our city's balance sheet.

It seems there have been some places where bike sharing has worked. I wonder why it did not work in your city. I always thought it would be way too easy for people to simply steal the bikes.

That weird. And here in our car-centered city our Capital Bike sharing program is expanding.

Bike shares seem to work here.

I wonder why bike sharing has failed in Livorno when it has been a rousing success elsewhere.

Sad photo of failed bike sharing station. Bicycles are such a great way to get around with a long list of benefits for both community and individuals. But the program can have obvious difficulties. The city will not go bankrupt over the failure of this program.

That is a big shame. It seems like there might have been some mismanagement involved.

Sounds like "share" is a foreign word in Livorno. ;)
