Hotel Palazzo

Grand Hotel Palazzo, Viale Italia, Livorno
The magnificent Grand Hotel Palazzo, practically in front of the Terrazza Mascagni.
Vintage postcard, Palace Hôtel, Livourne, Livorno
A quite fantastic representation of the same hotel in a 1906 postcard.
(Postcard digitized from the collection of Antonio Cantelli)

Beautiful. Other than a change of color, it doesn't look like there has been a big change.

Still beautiful.

Looks very pretty and elegant! In the old days Norwegian families could not afford to go to Italy, but artists and writers, like Sigrid Undset and Henrik Ibsen went there and got inspirations.....

Either way you look at it, a beautiful hotel.

There are only a few insignificant differences between the two photos, I wonder if there are many differences inside.

The old postcard is a drawing, not a photo...

Grand and beautiful (and it's not a model like The Grand Budapest Hotel! :-) )...

Wow! What a stunning building. I think, should I ever come to Livorno, I would like to stay there!
