Sorry: no tail!

Sparrow, Elba pier, port of Livorno
OK, I cut his tail off, but have you ever tried to follow a hopping sparrow on a windy pier with the bridge camera equivalent of a 1200mm lens?

All is forgiven, VP.

With such a sweet face to photograph, who cares about the tail?!

I'm happy it entered your mind and heart to take the trouble to photograph a "common sparrow."
How beautiful it came out.

Wow, that's a fantastic shot, considering the long lens!
Those little bridge cameras are getting ahead in the world. The more sophisticated they become, the fewer reasons for non-professionals to carry around a heavy DSLR camera!

(I was a little worried when I spied your title, wondering how the poor little bird had "lost" its tail.)

1200mm sounds very tricky.
