Twisted Trees

Twisted trees along the coast, Ardenza, Livorno
Along the coast at Ardenza, a line of twisted trees light up by the low winter sun.

Strange!
They must be snuggling to keep warm.

Trees look like that in Brittany. When they survive, that is. Eventually the wind and salt get the better of them... Lovely light!

This looks so familiar. As we approach the windy Roca Cape (about 30 kms west of Oeiras) the vegetation is very short and twisted.

Very gnarly. Is that caused by the winds on the coast? MB

To me it looks like part of the film "Out of Africa" by Karen Blixen.

I ove the twisted trees, and there is hardly a better light than low winter sun.
