Silvana

Sailing yacht Silvana by Perini Navi, IMO 8182947, port of LivornoThe 56m sailing yacht “Silvana” was launched in 2008 by Perini Navi, in Viareggio. With a 58.8 meter main mast and a 48.26 meter mizzen, both in aluminium, she has a total sail area of about 1500 m².

Amazingly large sailboat. Must need the whole Mediterranean to put up all that sail. Like my sailboats a bit smaller. Thanks for the post, most interesting.

"Silvana" is a wonderful name. It was the 3rd on my list of names intended for my daughter:)

Aluminum and tall masts? Somehow it reminds me of shaatnez שעטנז
the old biblical prohibition against mixing certain things, e.g. forbidden to wear a garment made of wool and linen.
