The pavement under the porticoes of “Via Pieroni” is being re-layed in a quite complicated way, called “Palladiana” (Palladian flooring). This technique consists in composing large surfaces of contiguous flooring out of thousands of all differently shaped smaller pieces of marble.

These are great VP. Love them.
It is a lovely pattern and very eye-appealing; I'd hate to have to be the one applying the tiles!
A job requiring much patience VP, so probably not for me! Only a little more to go and it will look fabulous!
That is a great design.
The workmen must either hate or love the challenge of this "puzzle."
I've never seen modern pavement like this. It comes out beautiful.
beautiful work !
This is really cool! SO beautiful and intricate... I can't imagine how much work goes into laying these. :)
Nice pattern!
That's going to look fantastic!
Lots of work put in to this.
Loos very pretty, even now.
I bet it takes a while to lay that!
Spectacular, VP. I wonder how masons are trained to lay such a complicated yet seemingly random pattern.
It's great watching this kind of work in progress.
Lots of work there! I love the first shot, beautiful detail!
