Another piece of the moribund Dutch Church of Livorno fell down on this Sunday late afternoon. The “Scali degli Olandesi”, the street in front of the temple, is now completely closed for safety reasons.Sunday was the last day of a display of photos describing the state of the church and the work done at the Old English Cemetery. This was one of the few interesting events of Effetto Venezia, but I am probably saying this because most of the pictures of the church were mine...

Really sad story. I am just glad you have been able to document it all VP.
How very sad.
Just like the royal castle in Stockholm, although the repair work has started there and it will not be finished for a few decades!
What a disappointment reading about the slow decay of this lovely church. Good luck!
That is really sad. I hope that will be the last thing to fall.
Oh no VP how sad that this church is falling to pieces, is it that there is no money to spare for renovations? Your photos of the situation are fantastic, great job!
The church is calling attention to itself, saying "Help me!"
I do hope that your fine photo documentation of the church will not be all that remains of it.
Oh no. Why don't they just either do something about it or pull it down altogether?
What a shame! Something should be done about it!
So sorry for these problems, I hope they can help this church.
Léia
That is really a shame. I hope no one was injured at least!
Hmmm. How sad that such historic places are allowed to decay. Do the people of Livorno not appreciate the city's history>
What a pity! The façade is so beautiful, especially the doorway.
