Whew! I'm so glad to see your post consists of a pruned tree and wooden implements. I was afraid you'd show a picture of my head...you know, to conform to theme day! :-) Knock on wood!

What a knobbled and gnarled old trunk that is, VP. Love the texture of the bark, though. Sad that we sacrifice trees for nicknacks, even if they are useful in the kitchen.

Love the shot at the market!

Two very different interpretations of the wood theme. Let's plant as many trees as we need to make the finished goods, and then plant some more.

Nice assortment of living and dead wood. I bet both have a nice wood scent.

it is hard to see the tree with no limbs as it reminds me of when sheep get sheared. they look so naked at first. anyway, great choices for theme day.

good illustration of the theme :)

That's about as pruned as you can get! Great photo :D

Goodness, I feel almost sorry for the tree! I think I can easily go shopping crazy in that fair.

It is always shocking for me to see a newly-pruned tree. It's like amputation of its limbs.

The wooden market stuff is so nice; nicer than plastic.

That's a stark image of a pruned tree. I know tho it has to be done at times. Hope it comes back to life as before. I expect the top is just fine.

And nice details too.

Great choice for the theme day! I like both of your photos, however the pruned trees are always a bit sad for me.

I liked the idea of the two images, they are different but perfect for the same subject.Clever idea!
The first shot is stunning!

Are you sure you didn't fly to Romanian overnight for this shot? :) The market stalls selling wood products look the same, they carry exactly - and by exactly I mean, exactly!, entirely to the last one -the same kind of merchandise. Nice theme photo.

Looks like all the things in the second shot came from the tree in the first shot.

That poor tree looks over-pruned. Sad.
Love all thing wooden in the second shot.

Yep, we have huge trees out here. Not like 100 years ago. (or so i'm told--i wasn't here LOL)

1/ Looks like a tree from Versailles. They prune them all the time even when they aren't diseased.

2/ I like that stall!

3/ I'm sorry to have made you come all the way to Versailles only to be disappointed... Isn't that a feat? ;-)

That first shot looks great against that blue sky!

@ Andreea - Next time I'll ask them from where they get their stuff. Maybe you're right...

@ ciel - I was disappointed mostly by the weather, but I still have some pictures to post...

A Venus de Milo of tree trunk - sorry it lost its 'arms'. Perhaps they were used for the rolling pins and boxes below.

Ha! I think your tree trunk without limbs is the first I've seen for theme day. :)

It's interesting to see how many things we can find for each theme day, isn't it. Love the variety in the second photo.

That tree bark is fascinating to watch. So many ghosts of cooking utensils are hidden underneath it :)
