Saturday afternoon on the seafront promenade near the “
Terrazza Mascagni”: a wizard with a pair of magic wands is blowing huge soap bubbles for the fun of the many kids present.
Our wizard is Renzo and he has been doing this for forty years. He uses a special mixture of water, dish soap and glycerine, a formula refined in years of practice. He has a nice website (in Italian) and I have found two spectacular videos of his performances.

Cool. I remember seeing someone like Renzo on a TV show many years ago. I will check out the video.
Vogon, you just brought back sweet memories of childhood. I love soap bubbles. Beautiful photos of Renzo.
HUGE bubbles! He catches the attention of young and old alike! Fun!
Those are some soap bubbles...it is nice that he provides this entertainment for kids (of all ages!)...
The bubbles are amazing and so is the guy making them.
Wow! this Wizard is amazing. The children must love when he works his magic.
Thank you for your kind compliments VP. & yes of course, use my photo. I am so honored you would ask.
Thank you.
: )
Oh what FUN! Sometimes I get sentimental and blow a bubble or two, but non the size of this. He must be a very smart wizard :)
Great shots! I like them a lot!!
Fantastic! And he does look like a wizard (or a Greek Orthodox priest).
He must be a wizard! It's such a fantasic post to start new cold and winter week with:)
When were you in Tallin? I was there two years ago and really fell in love with this city! (and with the country to be honest!)
Nice week to you:)

I think they impress people of any age.
What a joyful series of images.
Ooh! Those are amazing soap bubbles! Renzo is a wizard alright! The kids are so cute in their costumes too, especially the little one in red running at the back of your 4th photo.
Great and Amazing Soap Bubbles !! I loved them !!
Unbelievable! The colors are so pretty. The bubble on the right in the first picture looks like a heart!
This is SO cool! The colours look terrific! I've never tried doing this... :-)
I bet that when you watch Renzo you feel like a kid too, I did when watching that HUGE soap bubble!
Oh and now I know what la pluie is in Italian. For some reason I never needed to say the word rain in Italian...
A soap bubble wizard! The pictures are beautiful, showing all the iridescence of the bubbles and the enthusiasm of the wizard (and his audience!)

I would LOVE to be able to blow bubbles like that. REALLY!
WOW! Great balloons, super action captures!
I used to make big balloons for a living--at a science museum.
Huge bubbles. What fun for all of us to watch. MB
Wow, this guy is fantastic - great photos.
I wonder how many kids try this at home in the middle of the living room?
These bubble photos are amazing and fun to look at. Great people shots.
Some wizard! But, hey, this is Italy! Where are the fashion police? Wizard needs a makeover.
WOW! Amazing shots of the big bubbles!
These look great, I like the colors of the huge bubbles. I remember trying to get something that was about 10 times smaller than this when I was little (and failing most of the time; the secret's in the composition of the solution I guess). Nice find.
