Montenero, on the side of a hill, it is full of railings of many types. Some railings, plain and modern, climb up the hill.Others, ornate and older, guard balconies and terraced grounds.

Are the railing to keep people out or keep people in?
Railings do make a difference - usually to the good - on a property.
But forget the railings for a minute and look at the colors of that first house; aren't the beautiful.
The same colors as our villa!
These houses, historical buildings, sun, stairs, more is needed to live? Greetings. Best regards.
These are nice. I have always loved ironwork. I like the ornate ones.
These railings are really beautiful !!All are of different style !!
You take such beautiful photos of each property! I also love the different ways the windows are open in the first photo!
Wow, wonderful theme and images. If you use them all up in one post will you run out of material? Probably not! No, I haven't (yet) read the Hatter's Castle. I hadn't heard of it until now. Thanks :)
Nice examples. Railings are important for preserving life.
In fact, the Bible commands us to make a parapet around your roof. I'm collecting Jerusalem illustrations of that for a future post.
The first photo is terrific - I like the colour of this building and contrast it makes with white wooworks and railings.
Superb post:)
Nice serie !
Those balconies and terraces are elegant and charming!
Beautiful details and the second house is adorable, my favourite, also liked a lot the choice of the colours, it's romantic!

Love the color on the top photo - is that called Livorno Salmon?
I'd love to see the interiors of some of these grand villas.
I really like the older ones.
My favorites are the older ones in the last shot!
That took a lot of time and energy to make and install those railings! I like the last photo the best!
Bon weekend!
Railings---what a clever idea for a post. I like all of them. MB
How I would love to walk these little streets and paths. Thank you for taking us to see them. It's the next best thing to really being there.
Many nice details, and I guess the view must be fantastic from the house at the top.
Enjoy your weekend!
The first set is really pretty! But with hilly terrain and steps all over, I'd be grateful for the plain ones too.
I like these. The lines and zig-zags are appealing. I also like that they can be very detailed and a form of expression. This reminds me of a town near me that has a place that sells antique railings, fences, gates etc.
I really do enjoy all the details you have in your city. The first railings are the prettiest (IMO).
I like railings - they give sense of privacy. Looks like some folks in Livorno took that to extreme - I am talking about the second photo :)
They are all quite pretty, but I think I like the ones in the first picture the best!
So Livorno is hilly... All are great images but the first one with the shutters has that extra umph to it!
Very nice collection of railings, VP! The artisans in Livorno are good with details!
Beautiful railings - I love the ornate curly ones but the middle photo is interesting to look at, even though the railings are plain.

Wow, these look so beautiful - and useful too :)
Great set of railings!
