Frescoed Lift

Frescoed lift, Istituto Pietro Mascagni, LivornoI have to reveal you a secret: I know two Stefanos. Both are my friends and while one has the keys of almost everything, the other has already shown us the “Istituto Pietro Mascagni”, where we are going back now.Staircase, Istituto Pietro Mascagni, LivornoIn the first visit at the academy I missed the frescoed door of the lift and the simple geometrical poetry of the main staircase.Court, Istituto Pietro Mascagni, LivornoThe sun was scorching in the beautiful court and the “score and baton” fountain was still dry, but we can see it a little better in these images.Fountain, Istituto Pietro Mascagni, LivornoWe are not finished yet with this building, part of the “Gherardesca” compound: we have still to see two very different and peculiar rooms.

Two Stefanos? It's so not fair! Lovely details. In the first photo, It's painted, is it? But no matter I tried to convince myself, it does look like real.

Aha, the music school. I remember that art work. Some interesting details here.

Had I been born in Italy I'm guessing Stefano would have been my name.

Lucky you:)
The first photo with the little painted bird is lovely but the staircase in the second one is my favourite!
The court with the fountain is also superb!

How lucky you are with two Stefanos to assist you in your photographic art.

And these photos are indeed photographic art...

Beautiful building. Will look forward to the other different and peculiar rooms!

What a great place. I bet there are a lot of echos in that stairwell.

That's a very good trompe l'oeil! For a minute there, I thought the ornamentation was a real sculpture. I also like the balustrade of the staircase. But, really, it's still the score and baton fountain that I really love!

Looking forward to those two 'peculiar' rooms.

These photos make me want to come this very minute and have the experience of being there in the flesh.

Love the trompe l'oeil and the score fountain. The staircase looks like the letter "S" for your 2 Stefanos.

Fantastic pictures, the second one from the top stands out for me. I like how the stair case is framed.

Lovely building and photos. The sculpture is amazing - it just seems to floats with music.

I love the stairwell photo. It reminds me of the stairwell at the hotel I stayed in Rome.
