Palazzo Stub

Palazzo Stub, LivornoIf there is a contest for the perfect front door my vote will be for this one. The fact that this is a side door and probably lead only to an inner court, doesn't change my opinion.Palazzo Stub, LivornoThe door is part of an elegant building in Via Castelli, completely renovated few years ago. Even the back of the building overlooks the water, with a picturesque arrays of windows.Palazzo Stub, LivornoThis is the Headquarters of the D'Alesio Group, which manages a fleet of bunker tankers whose names will be familiar to most of our readers: “Antignano”, “Acquaviva”, “Montenero”, “Meloria”, “Ardenza”, just to name a few.

A perfect, simple door, and I love the windows. I would love to work there, a few years back, maybe I could have!

Beautiful door. Thank you for putting it in context. And thank you for the shot of those various windows, with their open and closed shutters, and such an array of shapes and sizes.

I get the sense — I'm not sure why — that the door and building are old, yet the detail of the arch is so art deco.

I'm intrigued by those motor boats with canopies. I don't think I've ever seen anything like theme here.

Too many windows in the last photo. I wonder why they put those windows on such arrangement?

Great door and looks like a wonderful restoration as well.

I agree, VP. The lines are perfect and the building is simply magnificent! It looks fairly new; is that true?

Superb photos!

It is a gorgeous door - the proportions and the rich brown of the wood.
I am really impressed by how many buildings have been renovated in Livorno. It's nice to see that the old grandeur is being preserved.
