Really VP! Very sad to see the images of what happened to the Costa Concordia.

Yes, for sure. Busy for the cruise industry, too. It's a shame that some commentators are painting the entire cruise industry with the same broad brush of the behavior of the Costa captain. Cruising is a very safe way to vacation. Condolences to those who suffered loss because of this sad event.

The Coast Guard captain is coming across as a hero for his efforts to force the captain to resume his responsibilities.

So glad you are there showing us all of the beauty in your lovely city!

The color is brilliant!

My thought is the same as Jack's comment. The Italian Coast Guard has shown itself to be much more vigilant and dedicated than the Captain of the ship.

I have not seen a TV in months and switched the radio off on Friday after I heard a lot of bad news, so it was Monday until I heard may my colleagues talking about it...

Yes, very unfortunately. Livorno is in charge of Giglio, no? I think I saw some vigili del fuoco from Livorno on the recent sad news.

Yes it has been... what a tragedy that grounding was. SO thankful for the coast guard who put their lives on the line every day for us.

I feel such admiration for your brave Coast Guard crews and for Capt. DeFalco for the rescue work they did and are doing. Thanks to your many previous posts, I feel like I know them.

Wishing safety to all concerned.
