Probably the most famous grates in town are the large ones in “Piazza della Repubblica”, giving air and light to the “Fosso Reale” flowing underneath.A vintage grate ventilating a cavity floor, in “Corso Mazzini”.This one, old and elaborate, was part of the ventilation system of a toilet and it is placed at eye level in “Via Ricasoli”.

These are really beautiful VP. Very nice.
Pieces of art indeed. Thank you for sharing such detail of your city.
Please have a good Wednesday.
Quite beautiful and I wish ours in America did look like that.
I love grates and these are magnificent!
These are all beautiful, VP. I appreciate the artistry in each. Too often, in America something like a grate would be considered utilitarian and made without a thought to artistry.
Wow, you have pretty ones! Ours are pretty plain.
They would need to be impressive to suit this location.

These are art indeed. What fabulous grates. MB
Thanks for collecting these grates. I'm grateful.
Oh boy these are superb! And that Flatiron... :-))
@ Stefano - Thanks for the technical clarifications, promptly included in the text!
kind of details i like to observe :)
Some pretty great grates, VP.
Very fancy! Definitely don't find them like that in North America.
Love this perspective of the Piazza! Great shot, VP.
Anche i dettagli sono importanti, ottimi scatti! Ciao, Arianna
How wonderful that so much trouble was taken over such small details! Architectural detail can be very satisfying to photograph - and to see.
Italian STYLE, also here!
Even your grates are artistic! Now that's what I call class :D
Wonderful lines, really beautiful!

Your grates are far more interesting than the grates we have here!
Great composition on the top photo.
