The Bridge of the Fortress

Fortezza Nuova, via Borra, Scali della Fortezza Nuova, Livorno
The Fortezza Nuova (New Fortress) seen from the small bridge at the entrance. Fortezza Nuova means New Fortress, where “new” means the year 1604. It was partly demolished in the 17th Century to make room for the new quarter of Venezia (Venice). The fortress is still completely surrounded by water and it is now a public park.

It looks nice and somehow freshly renovated. Isn't it?
