Last summer Instagram increased the size of its images to 1080 x 1080 pixels from the obsolete 640 x 640 pixels. It also began to allow the upload of photos that aren't square, lifting another annoying limit to this platform.
I posted my first photo on IG in mid-November and went on using mostly, but not only, images from this blog. This explains a few square photos seen lately on LPD: this format, when not mandatory, may be an interesting option for both platforms. The ‘unsquare’ format has some limits (a 3:2 ratio for landscape and 4:5 for portrait) and you still have to use an Android or an iOS device with Instagram to upload the photos, but you can easily see them with any browser on any kind of operative system.
Sorry if I have bothered you with things you are already familiar with, but this is still a new world for me.

It's a great moon shot. But I refuse to have anything to do with either Facebook or Instagram or any other of the so-called "social media." And fortunately, being retired, I can get by with it! :)
Awesome!
All I know is that this is an awesome photograph!
Quite a moon!
Following you right away on Instagram.
I've downloaded the ap but, haven't started using it yet. Love the moon shot.
Wow! What an impressive moon shot!
Superb.
I can't use my phone for photos. It's not good enough.
ciel - I use Instagram only for photos taken with my camera.
