The Pisan Tree

Christmas tree, Piazza XX Settembre, Pisa
For the first time in years we do not have a Christmas tree in any of our squares. There is no money for it, so let us enjoy the nice tree the spendthrift Pisans managed to set up in Piazza XX Settembre, in front of their Town Hall.
Christmas tree, Palazzo Blu, Pisa
To add insult to injury, our profligate neighbors erected another sizable Christman tree at Palazzo Blu, which is hosting the exhibition “Amedeo Modigliani et ses amis” (Amedeo Modigliani and his friends), dedicated to the Livornese painter.

Oh dear, insult upon insult. But can't afford a tree? Yikes!

It is SAD that Livorno don`t have the money to buy a Christmas tree. What about a good neighbouring city, will they donate one?

Here the business people in the city centre put money together to decorate the streets.

Each year Norway send a Christmas tree to London as a thank you- for all the help we got from 1940-1945.
It is always at Trafalgar Square.

I like the poster and the tree at Palazzo Blu.

Heck, you'd think someone would drag a tree out there. I bet the town would lend some ornaments too.

I can't believe that the city of Livorno has not the money for a few Christmas trees...
And the shopkeepers? No money, too?

Sorry that you didn't get better decorations this year. I'd love to see that exhibit, Modigliani is one of my favourite painters.

Well the Pisan tree is beautiful and I wouldn't mind seeing the exhibition either!

Maybe if you all give one Euro there could be a fine tree next Christmas.

It must drive you crazy that Pisa has a nice, big tree and Livorno does not.
