The new footbridge is ready, but I doubt that we will be able to cross it normally any soon: what is the utility of it if the Fortezza Vecchia is always closed or it is open by appointment only?
Even the boat owners have been vocal in their opposition at this project, because a working bridge would be a gate of sorts between the canals where hey keep their boats and the sea.

It might have well been better to leave things as they were. Interesting construction on the bridge though.
Oh well. It's there now. Maybe, in time, the fort will reopen for regular visitation.
your first shot is very interesting
So, everything has its drawbacks.
It does seem like a narrow passageway for the boats.
I see your point....
A bit strange.
Maybe they have more projects for the future and this bridge is only the first step ?
I like your photos.
They might rename it "Dignitary Bridge".
Oh no. I knew there would be a snag somewhere...
It does seem a bit odd to me.
Weird.
With or without the bridge, the Fortezza Vecchia is fantastic!
Sounds complicated my friend!
