Passiflora

Passiflora, passion flower, via Bonomo, Livorno
I saw this flower in Via Bonomo, where there were many of them. I had to ask my friend Stefano to learn its name: passiflora or passion flower.

Very delicate and intricate and beautiful. I can see why it got the name, Passion flower.

We have these growing around our farm. Such beautiful flowers. The vines produce a fruit known locally as maypops.

My Italian nun friend found one on a walk recently (in the Jerusalem Hills) and introduced me to it.
The passion flower is full of symbols relating to the passion of Christ.

It looks like from another world, no?
