The C-130, in its more recent versions, is still the workhorse of the 46th Air Brigade. This is a C-130J-30, a stretch version of the original model, with a fuselage extended of 4.6 m (15 ft) its maximum payload is almost 20 tons, with a range of 1900 miles.
The inside of the same aircraft, with the ramp closed. By the way, my first flight experience, almost forty years ago, was on a C-130.

quite an aircraft
Well, at least there was plenty of legroom, VP. ;-)
You so often post photos of interesting boats and ships that I'm surprised to see this aircraft. Never flown in a C-140, but know they are a workhorse military plane.
They are massive! Excellent shots, particularly the interior.
The seats don't look very comfy.
Which of these seats are business class?
Fascinating post, and I love your photos! Thank you so much for sharing.
Twenty tons and 1900 mile range, wow, imagine the possibilities.
Thanks for the second photo; not something we see every day.
What was it like for you to fly in a Hercules?!
Seeing the inside is like being in a movie.
Thanks for the shot of the inside, I know this scene only from the movies...
How neat that you got to take a peek inside! I was reading a book recently on CRAF pilots and this is one of the planes they mentioned. It's nice to see one in person (sort of, anyway!).
I have flown a few times with this type of plane, when I did my military service. Impressive machines at landing and take off. They were very loud inside.
That is a big plane! When my brother-in-law was in the US Air Force he flew B-52's and took me on a tour inside of one. We didn't leave the ground though!
A massive and important plane to any air force. Love that shot of the interior.
I like the interior shot!
