Flying over Livorno

Flying over LivornoOur flight from Paris was so kind to pass three times over Livorno before landing in Pisa, so I was able to take some pictures of our town seen from above.
In foreground we can see, from left to right, the round building of the acquarium and the grey snake of the “Terrazza Mascagni”. At the other end of the terrazza stands the Gazebo and just above it the Grand Hotel Palazzo, with the “Pancaldi Acquaviva” sea resort. The large compound which hosts the Naval Academy lies by the sea, while the “Armando Picchifootball stadium and the “Federico Caprilli” racetrack line up in the top part of the picture.

Really a great view!

Such a clear view, VP. It looks like you were suspended below the plane, not shooting through a window. I flew back to Hartford last Saturday and tried to take photos, but they were terrible. Yours are so much better!

Perfect view, wonderful weather... You aren't missing anything, the sky is white again today...

Wow, beautiful! Impressive! Did you pay the pilot bakshish to fly over Livorno?

I loved rereading your post about the horse trainer. What a story!

That's what you call a birds-eye-view. It gives us a great perspective on your home city.

Jack - I never got the window seat, but this time Trillan agreed to switch places near the end of the flight.
Dina - Flying over Livorno is the normal approach to Pisa airport. The flight was early and the runway busy, so I got three passes...

Great view from above! I find these sorts of shots hard to get right. Love this one!

That was nice of the pilot, he probably knew you were flying with him.

Hmm, I wouldn't give up a window seat to anyone. ;)

I think this is even better than the one you posted today. Just wonderful!

I guess this is the BONUS with a window seat!
So nice to see your city and area from the plane .
