Most of you probably already know how much I like events like the so called White Night or Blue Night. A Tricolor Night became unavoidable and therefore a constellation of minor non-events was organized, or better disorganized, all over the town center.
Ramshackle bands playing improbable music of the Risorgimento, horse riders in even more improbable “garibaldino” attire and the since unattained technical prowess of illuminating our “Mercato Centrale” with three colored floodlights, were some of the pearls of this absolutely forgettable night.

Wonderful post VP. I am still laughing. The Mercato Centrale looks nice with the lights.
The lights on the buildings is very pretty! The horse riders are amusing! Lovely post!
How peaceful a sight. Hope that people did enjoy it though. And yes the horses riders are thought provoking.
Wishing you all a good Friday.

I would have enjoyed it, too, VP. The first photo is well worth clicking on and then studying the details. Colored lights make things look festive.
Another great event, eh? ;-)
I like the first photo for the color and the lights in the dark. I like the second photo because it is a study of the personality of the man riding the horse closest to your camera. How he sits the horse, (the horse looking like he'd like to take a hunk out of the guy), the cocky attitude with the cigarette in his mouth, the pony tail (that's one long pony tail), the photo taking, the blue jeans, an interesting character! It would
have been worth it to go to Tricolor Night just to see this horseman!
Looks like a fun evening. I love all of the color on the building.
Forgettable---love it!! MB
Haha, at least your biting description is enjoyable!
I bet you took a lot of photos, VP! Indeed, the first one shows us another face of the town.
You have to admit that the lighting on the building is cool though.
@ ciel - The lighting on the building was barely visible in the normal light and most of the passsers-by didn't even notice it. I had to increase the darkness and the contrast of the image to get some detectable effect.
Happy Birthday Italy.
You are so droll. Thank you for beginning my day with a laugh.
Horses there?!
I also love city night lights,I imagine those horses have lots of fun in this event!
Okay...just kidding!
Hey I love your first shot, very well done!

HA! "absolutely forgettable"!

Belli i palazzi illuminati a tricolore! Il mio Verdi era risorgimentale, certo! Ma era davvero tutto così improbabile? Ciao, Arianna
@ Arianna - Anche di più. Parlo della cosiddetta notte tricolore, la festa del giorno dopo è stata una cosa decorosissima.
You are so funny, VP! :-) It's a great night shot though.
Hahaha... it's late here and I must get my beauty sleep... but this was a great way to end my day. You are just too funny, VP.
