“La Soummam” is a new training ship of the Algerian Navy visiting Livorno at the end of her summer cruise. She has on board 120 cadets. Her Captain and some of the officials are former graduates of our Naval Academy.By the way it seems that this ship, which entered service in 2006, is completely “Made in China”, armament included.

I like your photos...you do know how to capture ships. Is there anything that is not made in China these days?
Great ships.
Good shots and interesting post, VP. China today fills about 35% of the global demand for ships. Korea and Japan are also big producers.
@Jacob - I find it interesting that China is portrayed and hence perceived as the "only" factory of the world. In fact, China accounts for less than 10% of global exports. It was only a few months ago that China overtook Germany as the largest exporter in dollar value. The USA, by the way, ranks as the 3rd largest exporter at 8.5% and Italy ranks 7th with 3.2%.
Italy, Algeria, China--it's a small world.
A beauty of a ship---definitely Naval.
I have a few boats on my post---but nowhere near a huge at that one. MB
As all ships she is beautiful, even if made in China:)
Hmmm... not sure I would trust a boat that's "made in China". Most of their goods turn out to be pretty cheap!
Made in China? If you turn the ship upside down does it say "Made in China"? hahahaha!
Two nice democracies meet.
@ ciel - Difficult to object...
Massive and very well photographed!
These days about everything is made in China, no?
God bless you!
